Michael Wooldridge - Principal Resident Organist

Michael won the UK Young Theatre Organist of the Year Competition in

1980 and since then has enjoyed a very successful career in music.

He has been instrumental in the design of our Wurlitzer installations.

Internationally acclaimed, over the years he regularly featured on BBC

Radio 2’s ‘The Organist Entertains’ and various local radio shows.

Michael played live to 5-million people on BBC Radio 2’s Steve Wright

Show, has appeared on TV with Matthew Kelly and on stage with the

Mantovani Orchestra. Very active in the show world, he has worked on

countless stage productions and worked with many stars of the 70s and

80s, including comedians Syd Little, Don Maclean and Jimmy Cricket,

master magician Paul Daniels and Irish Eurovision Winner, Dana.

Passionate about the future of the theatre organ, he is a Trustee of the

London and South of England Chapter of the American Theatre Organ

Society, has worked as Electronic Organ Tutor at the University of Sussex

and is Principal Tutor at both our own TPOPS Academy and at the Rye

Wurlitzer Academy.

Chris Stanbury - Assistant Resident Organist

Chris is one of the busiest organists on the UK circuit and is hugely

versatile, having classically trained on both organ and piano.

Notable events for him have included playing the organ at the Notre

Dame Cathedral in Paris, giving the world premiere of a jazz organ piece

at the Duke’s Hall, Royal Academy of Music and playing piano for several

high profile corporate functions and various tours of the Far East.

He has performed on TV and on BBC Radio 2.

Alongside performing, he is passionate about educating the next

generation, loving to see his students progress, whatever their level. He

is an examiner for the London College of Music.

Cameron Lloyd - Assistant Resident Organist

Cameron is often to be found spreading his happy music ‘beside the

seaside’ as he is Resident Organist at the famous Opera House in

Blackpool and also regularly features playing the Compton organ at the

Merlin Cinema (formerly Odeon) in Weston-Super-Mare.

He is perhaps the busiest dance organist in the UK, often playing

multiple times each week, but alongside that is heavily involved in the

restoration and preservation of theatre pipe organs and holds offices

with both the Cannock Chase Organ Club and UK Theatre Organ Club.
